Saturday's Beauty Before Age ~You Are What You Eat~

You Are What You Eat

I know all your life you have heard...."You are what you eat".
And when it comes to your skin and your health that is absolutely true.
I have found a number of foods that can help us with wrinkles and gain glowing skin .
So grab a cup of Green Tea for starters and see what else we can find to put into our bodies that help us combat aging in a good way.

Since you have that cup of Green Tea let's look at what benefits it has for you....
Green Tea provides a lot of antioxidants. Many studies have shown that it helps cells to grow properly and maintain a healthy life cycle. One very powerful antioxidant found in Green Tea is called EGCG.
It shows to be very helpful in fighting cancer, brain health, heart health and weight loss.

If you have skin issues like acne, rosacea, dermatitis or psoriasis then two products readily available in the dairy case in your local grocery store are Yogurt and Kefir.  They are both full of great probiotics.
The skin friendly bacteria in these yummy good foods help condition the skin inside and out.  Both of these foods are great at reducing inflammation, redness and irritation.

Berries are wonderfully full of antioxidants.  But blueberries and raspberries are the top pick for flavonoids, polyphenols, prebiotics, vitamins and of course oodles of antioxidants.  They hunt down and scarf up free radicals. The environment can be brutal on our skin and the way it makes us age.  Berries can also help promote skin cell regeneration. So load more berries into your diet.

I just love tomatoes!  I love them in salads. On sandwiches.  To me there isn't anything much better than to go and pick a tomato right off the vine and just chomp right into the yummy juicy "fruit".
Tomatoes are packed with Vitamin C.  Vitamin C helps build collagen.  This makes your skin look firmer and plumper.  Tomatoes also have lycopene which protects the skin from the harmful UV rays of the sun.  Tomatoes also help improve our vascular system.  This will in turn help to improve our circulation.  So if you will just add them as a regular food for 6 weeks you will start to notice a wonderful glow to you skin.

Nuts are full of Omegas. Good Fat!
Almonds have Vitamin E. They have anti-inflammatory properties to help with conditions like eczema, psoriasis and acne.   Walnuts contain the most omega-3s.  Walnuts, Almonds, Peanuts, Hazelnuts and Pistachios are all good for your heart health when eaten in moderation. Why don't you try swapping a handful of chips for a handful of nuts and see the smoothing results.

Oh! delicious Avocados. Yes they are high in fat but it is a very beneficial source of fat, Vitamin E. But it does not stop there. Glutathione is one of the hidden benefits from Avocados.  Glutathione is an incredable anti aging and detoxification source. It flushes out toxins from your body.  And Glutathione helps with wrinkles and acne.

Now these are just a few of the foods I have found to help with our aging.  Let's face it we are all going to age.  But since we are going to age why in the world not try to do it with more grace.
I would love to hear what some of your healthy foods you are eating or drinking to slow down the aging process?

He has made everything beautiful in its time.   He has also set eternity in the humans heart, yet no one can fathom what God has done from the beginning to the end.   Ecclesiastes 3:11
